Dave’s Wish …   Bridging the Gap

Dave’s Wish is the nonprofit division of Bridge Hospice, founded to honor the life and legacy of David Wayne Schuchard, who passed from pancreatic cancer in 2011. In his final days, David shared a simple but powerful vision: to make life a little easier for those walking through its hardest moments. That vision became Dave’s Wish.

Rooted in compassion and community, Dave’s Wish provides practical, immediate support to hospice patients and their families in Lubbock and the surrounding area. From groceries and rent to clothing, transportation, utilities, and comfort items, we help meet the critical needs that hospice care alone may not cover, ensuring that no family has to face these challenges alone.

In partnership with Bridge Hospice, Dave’s Wish carries forward David’s dream with dignity and purpose, offering a compassionate safety net when it’s needed most. Our mission is grounded in empathy, community generosity, and the belief that every person deserves peace, dignity, and support at the end of life.

Together, we extend care beyond medical needs—because sometimes, a wish is the most powerful way to BRIDGE the gap and heal a heart.
