CEO & Administrator
At Bridge Hospice, we believe that end-of-life care should be rooted in dignity, compassion, and respect for both patients and the families who love them. Founded in 2019 by Tammie Ware, a healthcare professional with over 25 years of experience in hospice, palliative, and elder care, Bridge Hospice was built with a singular mission: to elevate the standard of hospice care in Lubbock and the surrounding communities.
Bridge Hospice began when Ware acquired Enlightened Heights Hospice, a San Antonio-based provider. From there, she transformed and grew the organization into a dedicated, locally rooted team committed to holistic, patient- and family-centered care. Here, we go beyond checklists—we listen, support, and guide. Our interdisciplinary approach empowers caregivers and loved ones to make the best decisions during life’s most delicate moments.
Tammie Ware’s commitment to excellence in hospice care has earned recognition across the state. In 2022, the Texas and New Mexico Hospice Organization (TXNMHO) awarded her the prestigious Charley Wasson Hospice Advocate Award for her innovative programs and deep dedication to patient advocacy in West Texas.
Among her achievements, Ware pioneered West Texas’s first Patient Advocate Program, training Bridge Hospice staff in compassionate feeding and care techniques for patients with physical or memory impairments. She also launched Dave’s Wish, the nonprofit arm of Bridge Hospice, which provides 100% of its charitable funds directly to hospice patients in Lubbock, covering vital needs like food, rent, utilities, clothing, transportation, and other uncovered medical expenses. Inspired by her late friend David Wayne Schuchard, Dave’s Wish is a living tribute to the power of compassion in action.
At Bridge Hospice, we are more than a care provider, we are a family, a guide, and a steady presence during life’s most tender chapters.
